Some machines will be available for use, though participants are encouraged to bring their own if possible.

5 drop-in spots are available each class for those who want to learn a specific technique or need help with a current project.

Help us build a queer Stitch + Bitch circle!
This is a Bring Your Own Craft event hosted by Crafty Queers Club and Nine Lives Thrift. BYOC and join other queers in our Stitch + Bitch monthly program. This can be for beginners or for the most experienced of artists. All needlepoint and fiber arts welcome. No judgement.
This is a free/ tip welcome event. Tips go towards program creation, management, and our retail space savings account. If you feel inspired to tip us we would greatly appreciate it.
Your contributions help keep the Craft Snacks shelf stocked and organized, and supports Crafty Queers Club as they work toward their goal of having a space of their very own — something we're especially excited to help make happen!

Sweater Vest Fest: Making Party!
Wednesday, October 28 | Nine Lives Thrift
We're getting weird with sweaters! Join us for a fun, low-pressure making party to turn old sweaters into one-of-a-kind sweater vests.
We'll have sewing machines, scrap fabric, embroidery supplies, yarn, rope, trims, hot glue, and plenty of other bits and pieces to play with.
Bring an old sweater (the pilly, stained, or forgotten ones are perfect!), or choose from our stash of sweaters ready for a second life.
The goal? Make something to wear to Sweater Vest Fest at Brake Bread. The fantasy? Make something fabulous enough to wear again.
$10 suggested donation. No experience necessary — just come make something weird with us!
ReUse Minnesota Conference
Nine Lives Heads to REUSE26!
We're excited to share that Nine Lives co-founder Roxanne Sanchez will be speaking at REUSE26, Reuse Minnesota's annual conference, on Wednesday, October 28!
Roxanne will join fellow reuse leaders for Resilience Starts Here: Reuse, Connection, and Community, a panel exploring how reuse organizations strengthen neighborhoods, build relationships, and support their communities through changing times.
At Nine Lives, we believe secondhand clothing is about more than keeping textiles out of landfills. It's about making clothing accessible, creating connections, and building something sustainable right here in Saint Paul.
We're thrilled to be part of the conversation!

Still figuring out your Halloween costume? We've got you!
Join Nine Lives Thrift and our upcycling pal Mara for a casual, drop-in costume workshop! Add bat wings to a hoodie, dinosaur spikes to a sweatshirt, bones to just about anything, or make yourself a fabulous pair of ears. From silly to spooky, we'll help bring your last-minute costume ideas to life!
We'll have fabric scraps, crafting supplies, and sewing materials ready to go. Bring something from home to transform or find your inspiration right here in the shop.
Suggested donation: $5–$10 per person. (We want to Mara to come back!)
All crafting supplies provided, no sewing experience necessary, and no one turned away for lack of funds. Clothing purchased from the shop is sold separately.

Bring a mat or borrow one of ours, dress for the weather, and consider sunscreen, water, and bug spray your new yoga accessories. Classes are held outside in the grass and are weather dependent — check ourFacebook event page for updates, cancellations, or changes.

Open Market
Every Tuesday in August from 4:00–7:00pm, we’re hosting Open Market at Nine Lives. Community members are welcome to stop by for free produce, and pantry items!
Our shop will also be open special Tuesday hours from 3:00–7:00pm throughout August.
Open Market organizers shared that neighbors picking up for other neighbors, including families sheltering as federal immigration activity escalates, now make up nearly 1/4 to 1/3 of visitors at their distributions. Supporting this work helps keep food and resources moving directly into the community.
Want to help sustain and expand the program? Their Patreon membership is the easiest ongoing way to support Open Market and help grow what’s available each week. Cash contributions and CashApp donations made during Tuesday markets throughout August will also go directly toward expanding the following week’s offerings.

Every Tuesday in August from 4:00–7:00pm, we’re hosting Open Market at Nine Lives. Community members are welcome to stop by for free produce, and pantry items!
Our shop will also be open special Tuesday hours from 3:00–7:00pm throughout August.
Open Market organizers shared that neighbors picking up for other neighbors, including families sheltering as federal immigration activity escalates, now make up nearly 1/4 to 1/3 of visitors at their distributions. Supporting this work helps keep food and resources moving directly into the community.
Want to help sustain and expand the program? Their Patreon membership is the easiest ongoing way to support Open Market and help grow what’s available each week. Cash contributions and CashApp donations made during Tuesday markets throughout August will also go directly toward expanding the following week’s offerings.
